Chingay reflections (Ji-xuan)
I felt that the chingay was really enjoyable, the cheer was ' people, people, we are one' 'singapore, singapore we are one' ' chingay , chingay ,we are one' i think this emphasised that despite all the difference in costumes, races and religion. Or be it young children younger than 6 , or working adults , or retired people , they still performed as one and together. I think this serves as a reminder that we must work together well with people of different background or races.this also shows that we must remain united and appreciate other different cultures

Chingay reflection (Wen Shien)
After watching this year's chingay, I found it to be a really enjoyable experience. At first before going to chingay, I thought that it would be this boring procession of flower floats etc, but after experiencing it for the first time, I was really shocked. The floats were none like I expected, with many vibrant colours and lots of singing and dancing, making the atmosphere really joyful. Throught the entire parade, I observed that among all the performers, there were some old and some young performers which made me really shocked. Even though they are of different ages, they still came together to put up this amazing performance for us and for the elderly, they will have more trouble learning and dancing but they still managed to dance really well. Overall, I found this chingay to be very enriching as seeing all the different races and cultures come together to perform is very enjoyable and teaches us to be united as a country.
Chingay Reflections (Erlene Chua)
Chingay 2014 was a very good experience, I learnt many different cultures and I can now better appreciate them. I used to think the importance of racial harmony, but now I realize that it actually means a lot. All the different races, regardless of their own culture, must come and work together as one to make this Chingay a success. I think this is something that is not taught in normal lessons but it is very important to know. In the parade, everyone was very happy and we were all cheering, which was quite unexpected, but I really enjoyed it. I really appreciate all the teachers who brought us to this parade and let us have this rare and memorable experience.

EOY by JunLong
I am JunLong from 2J. During my EOYs, I did not go anywhere special, but I went to help clean my grandma's house as the maid when back to Indonesia for two weeks. I finally understand the difficulty of all housewifes and maids as they have to clean the house thoroughly. My arms were very tired after sweeping and mopping as my grandma's house is quite big. To all 2J classmates, do not think that housewifes and maids are very easy to be. Trying being a housewife for a week, and I guarantee that you would never ever say that studying is harder than doing household chores.

Blogwork Cny and one lesson i learnt so far (Ji-xuan)
Colour= red , because it symbolises luck .
Symbol= yu sheng. Because the different things on it symbolises the different well wishes and luck for the year.every year without fail, we will always lao yu sheng
One lesson i learnt so far
In lesson 3, i learnt that observation and communication is very important. Observing is not just looking without processing the information, but to analyse the information . Then, we were Asked to think of a person based on the description. For example , " this person skips breakfast most of the time". I also learnt communication is important because in a blog, we have to communicate our ideas which can capture the reader's attention as well. We can use 3 kinds of description. Factual, process, emotional. After this lesson, i will be more observant and try to communicate in a better way.
Classwork (Wang Shuning)
Lessons I've learnt in the past three weeks
In the past three weeks of CID, I have learnt many things, like not to judge a group by its cover and how to give an engaging presentation.
Firstly, we should not judge a book by its cover as the actual situation might not be based on what we see. There might be misunderstandings from these wrong judgements and cause trouble. We should learn how to find out more about the situation first before jumping to a wrong conclusion straight away.
Secondly, I also learnt how to give an engaging presentation by promoting an item to others to try and get them to buy it. To get someone to listen to you, you have to be confident in what you are saying. You also have to be loud and not hesitate your words, only then will that be an engaging presentation.
Chinese New Year
During Chinese New Year, the colour I think of will definitely be red. Red symbolises luck, wealth and fortune in the Chinese's beliefs. It is also the colour of all the decorations, firecrackers and traditional costumes, almost everything during Chinese New Year is red!
The symbol for Chinese New Year would be oranges. We use oranges to give them to our elders when we visit them. It is a sign of respect to them and wishing them good fortune.
The image for Chinese New Year would be this:
Poverty in Singapore
This is a man that is homeless. We can guess that he is homeless because all the things that he has left is beside him, and that I think that he does not have any children, and that his partner had passed away, thus he is very poor as he is too old to work. I think that the people passing by should report to the grassroots leaders and raise awareness of poverty in Singapore, thus raising funds to help the poor and let the old people live in old homes.
